Getting Involved

There is so much to do and so many ways to help.

School Construction

No. 2 Pencils will seek out struggling schools that need financial support to build new or rehab existing facilities. Currently No.2 Pencils is working with Ecole St. Joseph in Petit Goave, Haiti to rebuild their facility that was destroyed in the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010. Working in conjunction with the school administrators as well as other charitable organizations, No.2 Pencils will provide creative and developmental services as well as make a significant financial contribution.

It is our intention to use only local materials and labor because we feel that is critical to the local economy, creating job opportunities and building support for the school within the community.

Teachers Salaries
In Haiti and many impoverished countries around the world, most children do not have the opportunity to attend public schools. Our desire to provide the best education possible by financially supporting schools helps recruit and retain the best available teachers.

Materials and Supplies
No.2 Pencils will provide funds to purchase current textbooks and school supplies such as paper and pencils to schools in need.

Scholarships
Without access to a public education many families simply cannot afford the cost of private education. No.2 Pencils will provide need-based, K-12 scholarships. We will work with local officials to determine qualified applicants and award these scholarships on a first come first served basis.

Fundraising
Funding and support for No.2 Pencils will come from Ted and Valerie Stanaszek, Rachel Stanaszek, Christian Stanaszek, family and friends. From time to time the foundation may undertake other fund raising events including golf tournaments, 5K races, art exhibits and concerts.
